A memorial garden of sound conceived for the Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland, Calif. Sound sources include birdscapes, running water from the source in the High Sierra, European church bells, and Japanese shakuhachi playing from the ancient Sankyoku tradition of Japanese memorial music. The sound comes from transducers mounted on the bottom of the birdcages.

Mountain View Memorial Sound Garden
A submerged garden of windows radiates sound from a reflecting pool in the waning wintertime sun. Audio includes birds from the site, naturescapes with very very high pass filters producing an impressionistic warbling, and a shakuhachi recorded outdoors in a lavender bush (whence the bees).
